Angela provides Consultations
on Reducing the Appearance
of Wrinkles
After your initial consultation with Angela, she will recommend an appropriate treatment plan to ensure you leave with enough knowledge to make informed decision.
The treatment plan may include a procedure that involves the injection of tiny amounts of a purified muscle relaxant protein into specific facial muscles to reduce the movements that cause wrinkling of the overlying skin.
The most common areas treated include the “frown lines” between the eyes, forehead wrinkles and “crows feet”. It can also used around the mouth - such as relaxing a chin, upturning a smile, or “flipping” the lips. It is also commonly used for lifting the brows.

Treatment Of Excessive Sweating
Tiny injections to reduce excessive sweating from underarms and the palm of your hands.
These injections are a natural purified protein that causes temporary muscle weakening. It’s an excellent treatment for ‘dynamic’ wrinkles such as crow’s feet and frown lines. Doctors have been using this product since 1973 to treat medical conditions including facial ticks and muscle spasms.
A small amount of the product is injected using a fine needle into the muscle that needs to be weakened. Once the muscles are relaxed, you can’t contract and continue to make the undesirable facial expressions. Thus, the lines in your face gradually become smooth and new lines cannot form.
All you may feel is a slight sting for a few seconds, and there is no ongoing numbness or redness. A topical anaesthetic or ice pack may be applied to make you more comfortable.
MOST ASKED-QUESTIONS
How long does the treatment last?
The treatment is temporary, meaning that it will wear off with time, and usually lasts around 3-5 months, although sometimes longer. This time can differ from person to person, and is often less in very physically active people. Repeated treatments are therefore necessary to maintain the benefits, but there is of course no commitment to this - and without, your wrinkles will slowly return as they were before.
Will my face look ‘frozen’?
During your first consult we will discuss your desired outcome during your full facial assessment. I pride myself in keeping all my lovely clients looking beautiful and natural, and have a keen eye for detail and aesthetic appreciation so will work with you to create your desired look.
Is it painful?
Everyone experiences pain differently and has different pain thresholds. When some people think of needles, they think of pain. However, the needles used for cosmetic injectables are very fine and small, so there is a slight pinching feeling, but it only lasts for a few seconds.
We can discuss pain management during your consultation and if you find you are particularly sensitive , ice can be used as well.
Are there any side-effects?
Pinpoint bleeding and occasional localised bruising are the most common side-effects, but more often than not, are no more significant that the appearance of a series of subtle red areas that fade over the subsequent hour or so. Sometimes you can develop a headache or dullness over your forehead but this won’t last very long.
Is there anything I can do to prevent bruising?
No matter how careful and gentle we can be, sometimes bruising is hard to avoid because your face is highly vascular. There are a few things you can do beforehand to minimise the chance of bruising.
Avoid drinking alcohol before and after the treatment.
Avoid taking aspirin, Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba, Anti-inflammatories (Nurofen) and fish oil for 3 days before the treatment. Seek advice from your dr before ceasing blood thinners such as warfarin or Plavix.
A herbal preparation called arnica which is available from most pharmacies can be taken before and after the treatment. It is available in tablet, sublingual and topical cream preparations.
