PDO Mono Threads

Mono threads are single smooth threads that are placed under the skin to stimulate the cells to produce collagen and elastin, in turn tightening the skin, improving sagging tissue and facial contours.

Mono Thread treatment is considered a minimally invasive procedure for the lower part of the face, neck, jawline and jowls.

After a topical numbing cream is applied the threads are placed under the skin via a needle. The threads are made from PDO (polydioxanone), the same material used in surgery to close wounds. They dissolve over time stimulating collagen and elastin production and strengthen the surrounding tissue, achieving a tightening effect.  A few months after treatment clients feel a refreshed and voluminous effect as the skin feels and appears tighter and firmer.

Which areas can be treated with Mono Threads?

• Cheeks
• Accordion lines
• Peri oral
• Marionettes
• Nasolabials
• Jawline
• Neck

How long do Mono Threads last?

Once the needle is removed the threads remain in place for up to six months and then slowly dissolve. They start dissolving at approximately 3 months but the collagen stimulation can last up to 12 months. This long-lasting effect is due to improvement of the skin condition due to the stimulation of collagen and elastin.

Does it hurt and is there down time?

Discomfort is minimised during treatment with use of a topical numbing cream. Bruising is common after this treatment, but swelling is minimal. A little tenderness at the injection site can be expected post treatment.
